It's not like I'm worried that the world will end. I think I mentioned that I've had these since I was 7. But does this MEAN anything? Just woke up from a dream where either we suddenly had 2 suns, or were somehow catastrophically getting much much closer to Venus. |

Almost Perfect- INFP
20% Extraversion, 66% Intuition, 46% Thinking, 20% Judging |
So, you want to make the world a better place? Too bad it's never gonna happen.
Of all the types, you have to be one of the hardest to find fault in. You have a selfless and caring nature. You're a good listener and someone who wants to avoid conflict. You genuinely desire to do good.
Of course, these all add up to an incredibly overpowered conscience which makes you feel guilty and responsible when anything goes wrong. Of course, it MUST be your fault EVERYTIME.
Though you're constantly on a mission to find the truth, you have no use for hard facts and logic, which is a source of great confusion for those of us with brains. Despite this, in a losing argument, you're not above spouting off inaccurate fact after fact in an effort to protect your precious values.
You're most probably a perfectionist, which in this case, is a bad thing. Any group work is destined to fail because of your incredibly high standards.
Disregard what I said before. You're just easy to find fault in as everyone else!
Luckily, you're generally very hard on yourself, meaning I don't need to waste my precious time insulting you. Instead, just find all your own faults and insult yourself.

By now, you guys have no doubt heard that I am not going to be joining you for the game for a while, likely a permanent arrangement. Though I had meant to let you know before hand, Chris had wisely decided to tell you himself. However, I feel I should at least personally explain a bit of my motivation, especially so that no one gets the wrong idea.
Firstly, I'm trying to get ready to go back to school. Hopefully it happens this semester, but we'll see. Time constraints will likely be a big issue soon, so I wanted to make sure I got this out of the way. However, it was probably a minor triffle in the scheme of things.
Really, I wasn't having a lot of fun with the game. Sure, I was at the game, and having fun, but ultimately, it wasn't the game that I went for. It was the joking, the comraderie, and the kinship. And yet, the game itself really didn't factor in too heavily. I found myself being much less excited about the events in the game than I was about hanging around with some fun people. My character had gotten bland(er?) as time went along, and I felt more like a spectator for the duration of the session. This of course leads to wise cracks, side conversations, and other things that may or may not have distracted others. I was starting to see the writing on the wall.
It was not really anyone's fault, save perhaps mine, but the reality is that it was an emberassment of riches. I digressed from my original idea of a short, halfling druid that would wise crack and get the group into a lot of trouble. Well, there were already guys like that. From Grendel's humorous stupidity and valor, to Stathem's.... umm... Faith (ok... stupidity) and conviction (... valor). Don't get me wrong though, the characters were great and memorable. I don't grudge them anything. In a similar vein, characters like Mortanious and Raven were definite forefront role players, with a lot to offer the game. They had a great story to tell, awesome characters with which to tell them, and some splendid players to bring it all together.
And enough people filled nitches, that I just started to feel left in the lurch. If anyone was to blame, it was me. I had come to this game prepared to kick ass and take names. That was what D&D had traditionally been to me. Having stepped down from something that was more of a spotlight character (the aforementioned halfling) I decided I would step to the side, go with something more low profile, so as not to eat too much scenery in anticipation of some of the other characters which even then had shown much promise.
Which then left me to doodle and joke, only really affecting the game with forgettable lines and being needed only for relevant skill use. I liked the game, Chris runs an excellent campaign, and most of the characters were great. Really with one exception. I shined, sometimes, in combat, but that's not what this game is about. However, it's not as if it can't be done without me.
But I'd love to game with you guys again sometime. I definitely need to go in with a better mentality for a game though. Were I to do it over again, it'd be an entirely different story. Live and learn. |

[Jun. 13th, 2006|09:03 pm] |
I'm hoping this reaches you if e-mail doesn't. This is for all of you that are in the D&D game.
The game tomorrow is canceled. Chris's landlord is sporting a new kind of evil, and didn't pay the water bill.
So, until we can find a place that allows the use of indoor plumbing, or the landlord does what he is supposed to, I guess the game is called off, for now.
Check your e-mail, as Chris has provided more information. |
